Fifteen participants have been selected in Yamal to perform on the main stage of the Okrug in the «Symphony of Yamal» music competition.
The jury has completed the qualifying round of the II International Competition for Young Musicians «Symphony of Yamal», who will arrive in Salekhard in early February.
A total of 128 applications from thirteen countries were received for the competition. The participants in the face-to-face rounds will be talented young musicians from Russia: Aleksander Martyanov, Daniil Bessonov, Andrei Perezhogin, Yana Ovsyannikova, Tikhon Evlanov, Polina Tkhai, Inga Rodina, Adrian Markevich and Yaroslav Schmidt. Among the participants from foreign countries are Shengen Jin, Yifan Wu from China, Alessandro Villalva from Italy, Daniel Diaz Padilla from Colombia, Genki Nagai from Japan, and Aibolat Abdybakas from Kazakhstan. They will perform in three categories: piano, violin, and cello.
The participants’ performances were evaluated by distinguished professors and renowned figures in the arts and culture from around the world, who made up the competition jury.
Among them were Valery Piassetski, Pavel Milyukov, Alexander Ramm, and Borislav Strulov. Foreign members included Vera Tsou Weilin, Ray Wang (China), Maxim Mogilevsky (Belgium), Justus Franz (Germany), Dmitry Yurovsky (Germany/Russia), Lionel Morales (Spain), Lorenz Nasturica-Herschcowici (Finland) and Shlomo Mintz (USA/Israel). The jury is headed by the artistic director of the competition, People’s Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev.
The opening ceremony of the competition will take place on 10 February at the Yamal Philharmonic Hall in Salekhard. Starting on 11 February, the contestants will begin their performances in the second solo round, where they will perform their programmes. These will include works by Russian and world classical composers.
Based on the results of the two rounds, the Final will take place on 15 February, after which the winner of the Grand Prix of the II International Competition for Young Musicians «Symphony of Yamal» will be selected from among the first prize winners.
